CleanRise™ is a methane-derived microbial biostimulant containing beneficial wild-type
methanotrophic microbes. Designed through String Bio’s proprietary process, it
supports sustainable rice farming, enhances yield and grain quality, and reduces
environmental impact.

The potential of CleanRise application in Thailand

CleanRise can be easily applied to fields with different rice management practices. The
environmental footprint of all rice can be very much reduced with CleanRise. If applied to all 11 Mio ha, Thailand would produce an additonal 15-25% of rice without more fertilizer usage and reduce the environmental footprint from GHGs from rice cultivationby half.

A reduction potential of 3-4% of all GHGs in Thailand is a lot if we consider that at the moment the total yearly reduction from all sources and sectors are only about 0.7%. With strong civil and governmental engagement this can be achieved in a few years only while improving the competitiveness and attractiveness internationally very much.

When can Thai farmers start to use CleanRise?

Naturally Thailand protects its rich agricultural heritage against uncontrolled imports of pest, unwanted plants, animals and agricultural microorganisms. Importing CleanRise is controlled by the Plant Quarantine Act and related government acts. As the exclusive partner for Sting Bio in Thailand, we are now working through the review and permission-to-import process.
