Nadi Cooperative: Preparations for the 1st General Assemply
During 2022 the board of the FTS Organic Farmers network has worked hard on the transition from a Network of Farmers cooperatives to a Cooperative. The cooperative structue is needed so that the farmer community can take over the milling business and Internal Control System oversight from Foodtech Solutions.
As a legal transition from one to the other is not possible, the Nadi Cooperative has been founded with a small number of Network members as the founding members.
At the first General Assembly of the New Cooperative the founding board (same as FTS Network board) will step down and a new Cooperative board will be elected. At the same time not only the regulation of the Coop but also a big bundle of procedures has to be reviewed and accepted by the General Assembly.
Once the Cooperatives First General Assembly has accepted the proposed regulation and procedures and has elected a new board, all members of the Network of Community Enterprises can then join the cooperative and the assets of the Network acan be transfered to the cooperative.
On the photo you see a sub committee of the founding board of the Coop reviewing draft procedures that are based on standard documents provided by the Cooperatives Office of Amnatcharoen Province, adapted to our needs by Ananya.
Before the General Assembly in March, a number of additional meetings are needed to review and finalize draft procedures to be able to present them to the General Assemply for approval and adoption.
We thank the board members for their dedication and hard work!
